Worry not that no one knows of you; seek to be worth knowing. -Confucius
That’s my mission for this year. Provide quality jewelry at a price that provides good value to the customer and a fair return on our efforts. I hope that will make us worth knowing.
That’s my wish for this year. Continue to provide hand-knitted scarves to “Operation Gratitude” to send to our soldiers overseas so they’ll know we care and appreciate their service. They are the recipients of my knitting for 2016 and 2017. Before that it was baby sweaters to the local hospital auxiliary and lap blankets for a friend’s church mission overseas. We try and share as much as we can with others.
That’s my desire for this year. To assist in providing information, education and possible solutions for people seeking help with their heritage gift giving. Whether it’s hand crafted jewelry and heirloom ornaments, helping our Rock Club get their 501 (c) 3 status, running a booth at the local county fairs or setting up a children’s merit badge program in rock hounding, we’ll try and help others with their desires.
That’s my hope for this year. That I’ll be able to continue to educate myself on pearls in order to identify the real from the fake, fresh water and cultured in order to create heirloom quality jewelry, ornaments and adornments. We spend time, money and energy reading and learning about our craft and hoping to improve. We’ll travel to two industry events this coming year and hope to come away with new ideas, new ways to manufacture, and new ways to help.
I’ll wish, hope and desire to be worthy of knowing.
