Where have we been since July?
Chasing our tail, deciding what we want to be when we grow up (even though we’re both over 65 we haven’t decided), and visiting family and friends.
We were on the road 24 days in August to visit family and friends in Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and then home.
It was a marvelous 4,900 miles towing the travel trailer, buying rocks, hugs, food, kisses, more food and tired rump. We ended up the month at the club’s annual picnic with about 65 in attendance.
September was catch up, the Iron County Fair and a booth for the rock club where we sat in 95+ degree weather for 3 days and sold rocks, grab bags, let the kids spin the wheel of rock fortune for 50 cents a spin and watch their eyes light up when they got a really cool rock. It was fun. And we had 10 great volunteers that helped.
From there it was Knee Replacement surgery. That’s been the focus of our activities since the 5th of October. Now, at almost 4 weeks from surgery, we’re beginning to think about the other parts of life and what needs to be accomplished. I’m walking around, but my stamina is not where it needs to be. I’ll keep pushing to get the leg to bend 130 degrees, walk without the cane and get some weaving done for a Christmas show in December (that time will go fast).
In the meantime, I hope you’ll continue to stay tuned as I write my story about Twining and Tracy’s rock work.
Until next time - - -
