About Tracy Hassett
Numerous endeavors have led me to my current silver jewelry occupation. Beginning in School, I followed a creative course of wood working, mechanical drafting, and jewelry craft. Then by the late 50’s logging and road construction on the Oregon Coast, and family obligations became a full-time job, thus a long sabbatical from jewelry making.
Demonstrating Copper Jewelry Making
In the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s a second love, wood working, lead to a business creating and retailing wood turned giftware brought me back to my creative roots. Growing into a large shop with numerous employees it became another monotonous production-oriented job.
Photography became a spare-time creative outlet and eventually a business leading to a 2006 move to rural Escalante, Utah, where a 1943 service station was purchase and converted to a gallery for my landscape photography. With spare time, jewelry was resurrected beginning with beautiful Grand Staircase Escalante picture sandstone set in Copper.
Gallery Escalante was closed in 2014 in preparation for a move to Cedar City, Utah to eliminate a 260-mile weekly round trip. Settled in Cedar City, with time to spare, membership in a local rock club led to many beautiful cabochons perfect for jewelry. A new studio and refresher course in silversmithing started my current journey. Five years of craft shows, rock shows, and associated travel has led to offering my work Wholesale only beginning July 1, 2022.
